Richard Fisher represented Air Forwarders Association (AFA) in a joint meeting with the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) on September 7, 2011 in Washington, D.C. Richard participated in a lead team that conducted congressional office visits with six members of Congress and congressional staff. The agenda included various legislative reviews and meetings with high ranking members of regulatory agencies.

Jill Corbett and Gary Erickson attended the March 23rd sessions of the Coalition of New England Companies for Trade (CONECT) 15th annual Northeast Trade & Transportation Conference in Newport, RI. The day’s highlights included an overview of CBP trade operations in New England, presented by Kevin Weeks, Director of Field Operations for US Customs and Border Protection (USCBP), a Keynote Luncheon presentation by Rodolfo Sabonge of the Panama Canal Authority regarding the canal’s expansion project, discussions about price stability and market competitive pricing with regard to ocean transportation and a global economic review provided by Dr. Walter Kimmsies, Chief Economist at Moffat & Nichol.

Japan Airlines announces new service , in partnership with American Airlines, between Boston and their Tokyo Narita hub starting April 2012. Richard Fisher, President and CEO of Falcon Global Edge Inc. attended a meeting on April 26, 2011 as part of the Massport Asia taskforce. The presentation was by the alliance of Japan Air Lines and American Airlines with senior staff of both carriers on hand. The goal is to find a carrier that will provide non-stop service to Tokyo from Boston. The alliance is proposing service beginning summer of 2012, utilizing the Boeing 787 aircraft.

We heard many comments suggesting this was the best Air Cargo Conference ever held.
